Friday Favorites 06.24.2016

Good Morning and Happy FRIDAY! I wanted to share a few of my favorite things i'm loving this week. Thanks for following along and have the best weekend. xoxo, Jaclyn

Favorite Splurge:

The Apple Watch Sport - I just bought the 38mm Gold Aluminum Case with the Antique White Sports band and I am loving it. It is so customize-able, and a perfect companion for anyone that loves fitness as much as I do.

Favorite Nail Color:

OPI's "Got Myself Into a Jam-balaya" is on my nails right now.

Favorite Quote this week:

Put on your Taylor Swift hat, and be fearless. Especially for what your passionate about.

Favorite Song this week:

Favorite Summer Dress:

Gingham is PERFECT for July 4th!

Favorite Workout:

One of my girlfriends introduced me to the "Name Workout". You spell out your name doing an individual workout for each letter. It's not easy, people!

Favorite Laptop Case:

I've had my eye on this Kate Spade case for a while...

Favorite Accessory this week:

Nashville had the cutest boutiques, where I snagged a few spoon rings. They are so unique and make a great statement.

Favorite Shoes:

Steve Madden Elika Wedge Sandal

Favorite Water Bottle:

I recently got the whole S'well Bottle craze, and i'm loving it. These water bottles are amazing, and the mission to "rid the world of plastic bottles" is admirable. I bought the "Bikini Pink" 25oz:

Nashville Re-Cap Part One!

I spent the second week of June with John and some friends, road tripping to Nashville to get away. It was my first time to Nashville, and I had some idea of what to expect - but it exceeded my expectations in every area. Even the weather was phenomenal. Here is the part one (yes, this deserves two parts) re-cap of our vacation to Nashville:

On Day One // We left John's around midnight on Wednesday morning, and started our 11 hour road trip to Nashville. I'll admit, it was pretty fun! There's something very peaceful about driving while watching the sunrise - something i'd love to do again!

That afternoon we explored our AIRBNB and made ourselves at home. The place was in a perfect location in East Nashville, just a quick Uber ride to everywhere we wanted to go during our trip. I must say, the people in Nashville are so friendly, and the locals are always willing to help out the tourists - not something you see frequently.

Here is the link to the Country in the City airbnb that we stayed at. I highly recommend this place if you're interested in taking a trip to Nashville anytime soon!

That evening we headed to "Broadway" to go to Acme Feed & Seed for happy hour. We had drinks and appetizers on the rooftop deck - and admired the view of the sun setting over Nissan Stadium.

After Happy Hour, we were making our way to dinner (that Wednesday, June 8 was the CMT Awards at Bridgestone Arena} and we noticed there was a stage right in the middle of Broadway that wasn't there when we headed to Acme. All of a sudden, THOMAS RHETT comes on stage and starts singing his #1 hit, "T-Shirt"! Turns out they were filming for the CMT Awards that were happening, Live. It was amazing! First fangirl moment of the trip.

For dinner the first night, we made reservations for The Southern. Normally, I won't order anything too crazy, but hey "When in Nashville.." so I ordered the filet (pictured below). Let me tell you something, I would drive 11 hours back to Nashville just for this Filet Mignon. It was UNREAL. Here's a little more about what The Southern is about:

"Featuring a state-of-the-art, shuck-to-order oyster bar, a real wood-fired grill, locally-grown produce, deliciously tender meats and directly-sourced, sustainable seafood, The Southern combines indigenous flavors with exotic ingredients to offer an authentically southern experience with a twist."

On Day Two // The group of friends we were staying with all had tickets to the CMA Music Festival, and John and I decided to nix the tickets and be tourists during our trip. Our first stop: exploring Broadway.

If you haven't figured it out already, I have a slight obsession with cowboy boots. There is something about boots that make any outfit (dress, skirt, pants, shorts) so effortless. You can wear them during any season and they are so practical! John and I went into just about every boot store along Broadway!

We stopped at Acme Feed & Seed for a drink again. John and I really wanted to see the rooftop deck during the daytime, and we were able to watch a concert on the Riverfront! (That's another amazing thing about Nashville - they will never run out of live music)

After Acme, we headed over to the George Jones Museum to check out The George Rooftop Bar. We got to see another Live band play, while we cooled off with their spray fans and enjoyed the view of the Cumberland River.

After The George, we headed over to Doc Holliday's Saloon...

...Where I had the best bloody mary.

We were exhausted from all of the exploring, and John and I both thought the interior of this place looked too cool not to try out. We wound up staying for quite a bit and grabbed some appetizers to hold us over before dinner.

The best Pulled BBQ Chicken salad I have ever had, in my life.

After Puckett's, we headed to Tootsie's to leave our mark on the world famous bar. Another thing I admire about Nashville - their rooftop bars. I love a great rooftop bar.

That about wraps up our first two days in Nashville! Thanks so much for reading, and be on the lookout for pictures and details from the second half of our trip!

Memorial Day Weekend

Soho Soft Shirt - Ultra Soft Chambray - American Flag Print // Similar Crossbody Bag Here // Similar Jean Shorts Here // Similar White Tassel Earrings Here

Happy Memorial Day, everyone! I hope that all of you had the opportunity to have the day off of work and enjoy this important day with friends and family, celebrating what Memorial Day really stands for. Remembering the people who died while serving in the country's armed forces. I want to say a huge THANK YOU to all the family's of those who died while fighting for our country.

This American Flag Print Chambray shirt that I am wearing above is from New York and Company, and I love the look of this shirt. It could even be taken into the Fall months! I decided to pair it with some jeans shorts and flip flops. I would also wear Keds with an outfit like this.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend celebrating this special Holiday! John and I had a pretty laid back weekend. We stayed local, with the exception of Sunday. We took a trip up to Virginia to check out the Great Falls. It did NOT disappoint! Definitely not looking forward to the work week, however every day is one day closer to our trip to Nashville! I can NOT contain my excitement! (We leave early next Wednesday!)

Here are a few pictures I took yesterday at Great Falls. There were 3 "overlooks" that you could step out onto to view the falls, and they were absolutely breathtaking. Legend has it that George Washington could throw a rock from one side the Potomac to the other! (I would love to see that!)

Overlook 1

Overlook 2

Overlook 3 (my fave!)

So John and I did a bit of legit rock climbing (super proud of ourselves) - and got quite the work out in. We definitely took the harder course on the trails, and witnessed some rock climbers and some people kayaking on the Potomac! Definitely a cool sight to see.

So I am in love with the "running skirts" from Victoria's Secret. Especially during Summer outdoor workouts. They are SO cute, and make working out so much more fun. Plus, you don't see too many people wearing running skirts when they work out, and I like to be different. My top is just a classic tank from Target (I own one in every color) and they are my favorite to just throw on before going to the gym!

Today we stopped by Kloby's for dinner because nothing says "America" quite like great BBQ. I'm topping my weekend off with The Bachelorette!

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend, and if you haven't already, be sure to check out the Great Falls in Virginia - they are definitely worth the drive!

I would love to hear how ya'll spent your Holiday weekend!
Thanks so much for reading!

Shorts Weather + Bachelorette Recap

Similar Paisley Blouse here // J Crew Chino Shorts // Chinese Laundry Magical Wedge Sandal // Kate Spade Cedar Street Cami // Similar Tassel Earrings Here // Lipstick - MAC Rebel //  Manicure - OPI Don't Burst My Bubble

I am so excited that I am finally able to wear shorts! My fellow Marylanders (and ya'll on the East Coast) can probably agree with me on how sick we all are of the rain. Don't get me wrong, I love my Hunter Boots - but it's time to put those pretty things to rest. Bring on the shorts and open toes!

This Paisley blouse is another New York and Company find, however it is unavailable online. The one that I have linked above is adorable and I am in love with the pattern! These wedges are from Chinese Laundry, they are called the "magical wedge sandal" which is pretty funny, because it's magical to me how comfortable they are. I usually cannot run around in wedges, but these bad boys are a different story!

What did ya'll think of The Bachelorette last night!? First off - can we just talk about JoJo's hair!? So  beautiful! Best entrances - Luke and James. And Santa? "Jo Jo Jo" was cute the first time, and only the first time. As for Jordan, he definitely deserved the first impression rose - he's my favorite!!

Thanks so much for reading!
