Nashville Re-Cap Part One!

I spent the second week of June with John and some friends, road tripping to Nashville to get away. It was my first time to Nashville, and I had some idea of what to expect - but it exceeded my expectations in every area. Even the weather was phenomenal. Here is the part one (yes, this deserves two parts) re-cap of our vacation to Nashville:

On Day One // We left John's around midnight on Wednesday morning, and started our 11 hour road trip to Nashville. I'll admit, it was pretty fun! There's something very peaceful about driving while watching the sunrise - something i'd love to do again!

That afternoon we explored our AIRBNB and made ourselves at home. The place was in a perfect location in East Nashville, just a quick Uber ride to everywhere we wanted to go during our trip. I must say, the people in Nashville are so friendly, and the locals are always willing to help out the tourists - not something you see frequently.

Here is the link to the Country in the City airbnb that we stayed at. I highly recommend this place if you're interested in taking a trip to Nashville anytime soon!

That evening we headed to "Broadway" to go to Acme Feed & Seed for happy hour. We had drinks and appetizers on the rooftop deck - and admired the view of the sun setting over Nissan Stadium.

After Happy Hour, we were making our way to dinner (that Wednesday, June 8 was the CMT Awards at Bridgestone Arena} and we noticed there was a stage right in the middle of Broadway that wasn't there when we headed to Acme. All of a sudden, THOMAS RHETT comes on stage and starts singing his #1 hit, "T-Shirt"! Turns out they were filming for the CMT Awards that were happening, Live. It was amazing! First fangirl moment of the trip.

For dinner the first night, we made reservations for The Southern. Normally, I won't order anything too crazy, but hey "When in Nashville.." so I ordered the filet (pictured below). Let me tell you something, I would drive 11 hours back to Nashville just for this Filet Mignon. It was UNREAL. Here's a little more about what The Southern is about:

"Featuring a state-of-the-art, shuck-to-order oyster bar, a real wood-fired grill, locally-grown produce, deliciously tender meats and directly-sourced, sustainable seafood, The Southern combines indigenous flavors with exotic ingredients to offer an authentically southern experience with a twist."

On Day Two // The group of friends we were staying with all had tickets to the CMA Music Festival, and John and I decided to nix the tickets and be tourists during our trip. Our first stop: exploring Broadway.

If you haven't figured it out already, I have a slight obsession with cowboy boots. There is something about boots that make any outfit (dress, skirt, pants, shorts) so effortless. You can wear them during any season and they are so practical! John and I went into just about every boot store along Broadway!

We stopped at Acme Feed & Seed for a drink again. John and I really wanted to see the rooftop deck during the daytime, and we were able to watch a concert on the Riverfront! (That's another amazing thing about Nashville - they will never run out of live music)

After Acme, we headed over to the George Jones Museum to check out The George Rooftop Bar. We got to see another Live band play, while we cooled off with their spray fans and enjoyed the view of the Cumberland River.

After The George, we headed over to Doc Holliday's Saloon...

...Where I had the best bloody mary.

We were exhausted from all of the exploring, and John and I both thought the interior of this place looked too cool not to try out. We wound up staying for quite a bit and grabbed some appetizers to hold us over before dinner.

The best Pulled BBQ Chicken salad I have ever had, in my life.

After Puckett's, we headed to Tootsie's to leave our mark on the world famous bar. Another thing I admire about Nashville - their rooftop bars. I love a great rooftop bar.

That about wraps up our first two days in Nashville! Thanks so much for reading, and be on the lookout for pictures and details from the second half of our trip!
